Life's decisions should be anything, but forgettable. Too bad our memories are not good enough to remember and our notes too scant to affirm their details. What if we more thoughtfully and consistently took account of the past while in the present? Would that be a challenge worth fulfilling?
As "advanced" as we are, we remain regretfully of the forgetful mindset. Challenges, opportunities, and relationships are multidimensional playing fields for us to be intentionally thoughtful. As I thought through a challenge this morning, I recognized my own unwillingness to stop, vocalize, and write out what bothered me. What is it within us that makes us want to pass through the moment? What will we have to say and share when the moment of decision passes? What I think makes strong counsel so effective is the fact that forces you to stop and think through challenges, opportunities, and relationships from a multidimensional perspective. When you think about it, pausing is really not optional; it's healthy. Being thoughtful keeps our perspective sharpened and thoughts sharp.
